Step by Step On How To Start A Kitchen Blog Site

Wow! I’m in love with folks who love their kitchen. Good you love kitchen blogs most men are beginning to listen to their partners on how their kitchen should look like, and I believe you guys also want a kitchen blog or food blog.

Starting a kitchen blog is as simple as 1 2 3 infact you can do this in 15 minutes, guaranteed.

How To Start A Kitchen Blog

  1. Domain Name And Hosting
  2. Installing WordPress
  3. Getting A Wonderful Design

Domain Name and Hosting.

This is the easy part but you need smartness to get your domain. Think out the best name to give your domain, like I got this great domain cheapkitchendeals.com, so you need to be creative to get a good name you can use Hostgator to see if your domain name is available.

domains

For a start would suggest you go for the .com starter plan for 1 year

1 year domain name registration

After this you need to host the domain name registered with a hosting space, now a hosting space is like renting an office space on the web, mind you a domain name registered is like registering your home number.

As stated earlier for the webhosting company I would recommend is Hostgator, and they have the best rates in the industry if you were to get the webhosting from them the domain name you registered will be free for the first year.

The Domain Whois Privacy shields your personal address and phone number from being displayed to the public.

How To Install WordPress

Now that you have your domain name and webhosting registered you now need to get wordpress installed. Now, wordpress is a blogging software, it’s the software that I use for cheapinstantsecrets.com,  thekitchennewyork.com and most of my blogs. Its unique, free and easy to use, not a complex kind of software if you know what I mean.

Now once you login to your HostGator account, you need to get top of your control panel click on the link with worpress today under the ‘’special offers’’ section (see below screen shot)

Once you get the “Installation Complete” you’ll want to make note of the Login URL, Username, and Password to avoid lost password annoyance and frustration at yourself later. You can change these to something more personal and memorable later, but you’ll need them for your first time logging in.

Now you need to type your Login URL into your web browser. You’ll see a login screen like the one below. Enter your Username and Password you copied down from the previous step.

Getting A wonderful Design

Let me say a big congratulations to you, you’re finally gotten your blog reading for the world to see,

But slow down, we need a wordpress theme to get a unique design for your audience to stay captivated and glued to your blog,

Getting a theme you will need the following:

  • Well designed. Your theme should suit your aesthetic and offer the features you want. The theme should also be coded by someone who knows what they’re doing.
  • Responsive. Responsive designs are built to provide an optimal viewing experience for your visitors, whether they’re visiting from their computer, phone or tablet. That means your visitors won’t have to pinch and zoom just to read your posts—your text will already be a legible size.
  • Optimized for search results. This goes along with the last couple of points, because a well-designed site will naturally rank higher in search results than a site built on a theme that is full of errors. (Want to know if you potential theme has coding errors? Run its URL through theW3C’s markup validation service. You don’t have to understand what all the errors mean, but know that fewer errors are better than more errors.)
  • User friendly. Find a theme that offers built-in design options so you don’t have to edit code to change basic stuff. These features will save you a ton of time. Your theme should make it easy for you to change your logo, color scheme, etc.
  • Backed by great support. When you experience technical issues, a responsive support team and community forums are invaluable resources.

The bottom line: pony up some cash for a premium WordPress theme from a reputable provider. The time and headaches that you save down the road will make it money well spent.

If you’re looking for a premium theme, I would highly recommend the Thesis Theme. Also if you feel you need help to design I could be of great help with free installations
